How we can help you manage your gestational diabetes
We can help with all aspects of gestational diabetes management and care, which include:
- help you to learn how to monitor and manage your blood glucose levels
- help you with a healthy eating plan for you and your baby and to help manage your blood glucose levels
- Including meal and snack ideas
- help you understand carbohydrate types and portions to ensure you are getting enough energy for you and you baby and to help manage your blood glucose levels
- help you understand the benefits of physical activity in pregnancy and the benefits for your blood glucose levels
- refer on to an exercise health professional if needed
- help you manage medication or insulin, if needed, for your GDM
- help you achieve healthy weight gain during your pregnancy
- emotional health support following and your GDM diagnosis
- refer on to a psychologist if needed
- Education on the future impact of GDM on your health and how to reduce your risk of GDM affecting your future health
National Relay Service
